Hidden Teams:
Enter vc as a case-sensitive to unlock the MO Cap, Sega Sports, and Sega Net teams.

Random Team Selection:
Choose exhibition mode, highlight a team name, then press L + R + A.

Unlimited Energy with Fatigue On:
During the game play when you do not want to sub in a player, and you have fatigue on, go to options, turn fatigue off, and go back to the game. Then go back to options and set fatigue back on. All your players will have 100% energy.

Distract Visitor Free Throws:
When playing as the home team, repeatedly press X when the visiting team is shooting free throws. The crowd will start make noise and flash white balloons and throw the shooter's concentration off.

Blocking:
If you are going up to block a shot, you can hold the button, then release it when you want to block the ball.

Better Ally Oop:
Instead of going up, stopping and doing the ally oop, keep going and just press the Analog-stick, then whenever you are ready, press R. This makes the move more realistic.

Always Steal the Ball in Street Ball:
While playing against the CPU, press D-pad + R to have your CPU-controlled teammate to intentionally foul the other team. Your teammate will shove your opponent and steal the ball without being called for a foul, because you are playing by street ball rules. If done correctly, your opponent will never get a shot off.

Season or Exhibition Ball Stealing:
An easy way to steal the ball during season or exhibition is to set up slightly to the left or right of the guy that will gwt the ball from the inbounder. When he turns to pass the ball, jump (without turbo or you will throw it to the crowd). More times than not you will deflect the ball straight to the ground while the defense is running down court! instant dunk.

Enter Spud Smith as a name for a created player.

Play as the Rapper Redman:
Hidden players on Mo Caps team Enable the "Hidden teams" code to unlock the Mo Caps team. Enter the "Options" screen and choose the "Codes" selection. Then, enter "Arnold" as a cheat code to unlock a secret player on the Mo Caps team. Note: The code is case-sensitive. The rapper Redman will also be on the Mo Caps reserves.

How To Get Extra Points in Create Player:
In NBA2K1 no matter what a player's free throw average is it is just as easy to make a free throw with him and another person who may have a higher or lower average when a human controls him. Therefore in create player take a player's free throw points as low as it can go (.5) and use it for something else! This will not hurt the player's overall rating. I've made a '99' rated player with this cheat. But if you play against that player while the computer controls him he will stink at free throws.

Running People Over:
First you run at some one. Then hold A button until the arrow below your guy is completely orange. Then you get right up to the person you want to run over then press A button, and you will lower your head and run them over.

Draw Illeagal Defense on the Other Team:
While playing defense switch until you have gained control over your center and then take the center and run up the court to the other end were u can not see him any more. This usually works best when playing the computer but it can also fool another human player.
