Another year, another E3 and yet another awards presentation. We couldn't afford sexy trophy girls due to the rough economy, but to make up for it we all wore evening gowns while casting our votes. And yes, we even shaved our legs.
The Game Revolution Best of E3 2002 Awards! We have chosen a handful of titles across different genres and systems that are all worthy of praise, the games that we simply can't wait to see. Unlike other game magazines, we did NOT only choose only one game per genre, as we found it too limiting. Besides, this way we get to show you more games. Only games that were present at the E3 2002 expo were considered. You
might also notice that we're missing a 'Best of E3 2002 - Overall' winner.
Despite the wealth of very good games, nothing really stood out as being
the clear-cut best game. So rather than picking one at random, we're enacting
an editorial clause that we like to call "Up Yours!" and are
just giving out awards the way we want to. And the Winners are... |

Battlefield
1942 It was tucked away in EA's upstairs demo room, but Battlefield 1942 still made a lot of noise with its terrific multiplayer environment. First-person fragging by land, sea and air... all on the same map! |

True
Crime: Streets of L.A. Though True Crime didn't enjoy the hype of Doom III, it scores yet another one for Activision. An incredibly realistic world and fantastic depth just scratch the surface. If you thought GTA 3 was big, you're in for a treat. |

Blinx:
The Time Sweeper Sometimes the coolest games take existing formulas and add a big twist, which is exactly what Blinx does by introducing the concept of time manipulation to the 3D platformer. Very interesting and very cool. |

Neverwinter
Nights How many times will we give Neverwinter Nights an E3 award? Well, as many times as they have it at E3, because once again, it totally blew us away. Brilliant design and the best level editor ever keep it atop our wish list. |

Project
Ego Peter Molyneux's takes to the consoles with Project Ego. Open-ended gameplay and a persistent world make for a surefire hit - think Black & White as an RPG. Plus, you can be a jerk and get away with it. Hehe. |
